So, check it out. A new Hy-Vee facility opened on the North side of 152 Highway (W. Kansas St.), although a Google map won't tell you the new location, just weeks ago. I decided to invade the store with a voice recorder, some shoes, and a bit of curiosity. Approaching various shoppers and employees, I found out some news on this new store.
Also, as compared to competitor Price Chopper, the organic section is expanded. As for how it compares with Mother Nature, located on the Southern side of 152 Highway (W. Kansas St.) and just east of 291 Highway, I'm not sure. I'll have to stop in and read your comments (comment box located under this Blog!).
While in Hy-Vee's organic section, I spotted shopper Jan Messenger holding a jar of organic PB2 peanut butter spread. She filled me in on that fact that the store has a dietition. That's pretty wonderful in my book. I'm not sure how standard that is. So, readers, fill me in on how common it is to have a store dietition.
Messenger said, "The dietitian here is outstanding. She came to talk to our celiac group. So, it’s a great store to come to if you need help because they are wonderful about answering questions and if they don’t know the answers they’ll find out for you. If you request something they’ll get it in for you.”
Messenger comments further on the store dietitian, saying, “[She] knows everything about celiac. If you ever need anything---information about glutton---she’s your person. She came to our group last week and talked about allergy testing---sharp as a whip.” Messenger’s favorite aspect of the new Hy-Vee, she said, was “variety”. Messenger also says, “They are so customer oriented.”
